About Keelung
Keelung is a major port city in northeastern Taiwan, nestled closely between the steep mountains and the edge of the East China Sea. The natural harbor sits directly adjacent to the bustling downtown area, allowing arriving travelers to step off the ship and immediately explore local sights or easily access nearby Taipei, which lies just twenty-five to thirty minutes away by car or forty-five minutes by train.

The modern port officially opened in 1886, evolving over the decades from a regional trading post into a major international shipping hub.
